Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver Solution
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme(FORS) is available in in three levels Bronze V6, Silver S6 and Gold G6. Our most common fitment is to Silver S6 level which will also tick the boxes to be Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) compliant too.
“S6 Vehicle safety equipment Requirement To fit HGVs with enhanced safety equipment to help protect vulnerable road users. Purpose To minimise the probability and severity of collisions involving vulnerable road users. Demonstration FORS operators shall ensure that all HGVs are fitted with enhanced safety equipment designed to reduce the risk of close-proximity collisions involving vulnerable road users”
- Amongst other ‘equipment’ a ‘FORS Silver Compliant System’ must include:
- Recordable Front Camera and Side Camera (elimination of side blind-spot) and in cab Monitor. If a rigid goods vehicle over 7.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight then a Recordable Rear Camera also needs to be fitted
- Side Detection System with in cab audible warning
- Turning Warning Alarm (left turn)
- Reverse Warning Alarm
- Manual Night Silence Mute Switch (For muting external sound when required)
- Pictorial Stickers, warning VRUs (Vulnerable Road Users)
