Function Test
Sit in the vehicle with all the doors closed to start the test.
With the engine running the radio will mute* when the driver’s door is opened or when reverse gear is engaged
Leaving the vehicle
Fully apply the handbrake
Open the driver’s door
The siren will NOT sound
If the radio is switched on it will mute* immediately the driver’s door is opened.
To Test:
Release the handbrake (making sure the footbrake is applied if required)
Opening the driver’s door will sound the warning alarm
Close the driver’s door. THIS WILL NOT CANCEL THE ALARM
At the same time as above the radio will mute*/switch off
Apply the handbrake and the warning siren will cancel.
Entering the vehicle
Immediately fully close the driver’s door
Release the handbrake
The vehicle can now be driven away.
If the driver’s door has not been fully closed and the handbrake is released the siren WILL sound.
If the above event does happen, please fully apply the handbrake. This will always cancel the alarm.
The vehicle can then be driven away.
* Please note not all radio mute functions are available, this is manufacture dependant
